Expat Counselling

Moving to a new country can be both an exciting experience and incredibly stressful and challenging. Especially when there are cultural and social adjustments that need to be made on a personal and family level. Expatriates and international professionals may experience personal difficulties brought on by the transition. When an expatriate employee or one of their family members struggles either at home or at work, the impact to their future presence in the new location can be costly financially, emotionally and productively.

Counsellors at the Olive Branch are able to addresses both cultural adaptation and assistance with transition challenges in order to facilitate both cultural adjustment and enhanced work performance. We provide access to counselling for expatriates and their families to manage and treat transition issues, which may present themselves as marital conflict, parenting challenges, stress, depression, anxiety, loneliness, culture shock, social fears or guilt.
